Welcome to WBA

We specialize in planning and designing justice facilities for county government. Founders Glenn Ware, AIA/LEED®AP, and Paul Bonsall, AIA, have over 30 years of experience as architects dedicated to the design of safe, secure, and efficient public buildings. Our belief and practice is that the client is an integral part of the project team. Working together, we first seek to understand all of the issues to be addressed with each project - then we develop solutions that best respond to those issues. This will lead to a facility that responds to the client's functional, philosophical, schedule, and budget requirements.

Detention and Law Enforcement Centers

Unlike other public buildings, jails operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Safety and security of the public, staff, and inmates are primary concerns. The organization, layout, and physical characteristics of the facility should be driven by its intended operations. To achieve that goal, we take an interactive approach to design that involves the various users of the facility.

Courthouses

A courts facility should make a clear statement about the authority and legitimacy of the legal system and provide a secure and productive working environment for courts staff and public users. The physical design of the building, both interior and exterior, should be the result of careful study of the history, culture, and operation of the community's judicial and governmental systems.
